Essex Cricket competition – open to all schools who have Chance to shine in their schools

Essex Cricket Schools Cricket Poster Competition The competition will be to design an A3 Poster to celebrate “National Cricket Day 2012” and to encourage “The Spirit of Cricket”. The winning submission will win a “Coach and View Day” for a class of children. The day will consist of a 2 hour group coaching session, plus admission for the class to watch Essex 1st XI play Hampshire on Thursday 19th July 2012. The poster should represent everything Cricket related and celebrate our Essex Schools Coaching vision which “gives as many children as possible the highest possible cricketing experience in order for them to achieve their personal, social and sporting potential”. The spirit of cricket can be simply defined as “Cricket is a game that owes much of its unique appeal to the fact that it should be played not only within its Laws but also within the Spirit of the Game. Any action which is seen to abuse this Spirit causes injury to the game itself”. Each entry must have the pupils name, age, class form and School on the bottom. Schools must select a winning poster and submit to their project manager by Friday 27th April 2012, to which each project will then select a winner to represent the project at a County Level. Project managers will then submit their winner to ECCB who will judge the posters and announce the winning school and class on National Cricket Day (Tuesday 22nd May 2012). The winning pupil and form class will then be invited to the Coach and View day on Thursday 19th July 2012 at The Ford County Ground.
