A celebration evening of the olympics and Paraolympics by key stage 2 with Gymnastics and Dance.

Wednesday 8th February 2012 Key stage 2 Gym and Dance Festival at Helena Romanes School.

To celebrate the Olympics the Uttlesford Partnership schools performed a large number of Gymnastic and Dance works celebrating the countries from around the world.

This exciting production has had its largest entry. For the first time we will be based at Helena Romanes school. The schools performing to a varied selection of music which celebrated countries from across the 5 continents.

The production opened by Radwinter school This whole class piece was the the opening ceremony with year 3,4,5 and 6 children flying flags from across the world and performing gymnastic skills to a powerful piece of music which set the high performance standard for the rest of the schools. Henham and Ugley,Great Dunmow, St Marys Stansted and Katherine Semar followed the work with sports acrobatics, individual skills and quick dance steps using music from around the world.

The dance then followed the gymnastic section by the opening piece being led by Helena Romanes secondary school. This high standard work allowed the children and parents to see the talent that is at the senior school which was inspiring. RaButler followed this number with an enchanting UK number performed by year 3 and 4 girls. St Thomas More continued the UK theme dancing with a large variety of flags, hoops and other dance props.

The audience was then quickly taken across the world to India by Manuden school.

This wonderful colourful performance clearly showed a celebratory choreography. Dances from around the world moved us quickly across the Atlantic by Felsted school by the Line dance club performing traditional American steps. Schools that will be performing include – Radwinter School performing the opening ceremony,Henham & Ugley,Great Dunmow,Helena Romanes,RAB,St Thomas More,Manuden,Felsted,stebbing,Great Easton,Birchanger,Little Hallingbury,Katherine Semar,Dunmow St Marys and Flitch Green.

The performance will start at 4-15 and will be completed at 6pm.
