For the second year the USSP organised the primary school partnership competition at Joyce frankland academy Newport. The event had an increased number of teams in the event. There were 10 teams in the morning and 10 primary schools in the afternoon. The competition in the morning finished with two very close semi final competitions. The final result were Friends school second and RAButler finishing winners of the morning tournament.
In the afternoon there were another 10 primary school teams. There were many goals scored in the matches resulting with St Thomas More finishing second to Dame Bradbury winning the competition.
The level 3 Essex event is going to be run this Wednesday to see which school in Essex will be the top year 6 team.
USSP organised the Saffron Walden family tag rugby event at Friends School on Wednesday 10th February 2016. 20 teams entered into the competition, which had participation from every school in the Waffron Walden partnership.
The tournament was divided into 4 pools. All of the groups had 5 teams in the competition.
The top four schools went through to the USSP final which is going to be held at Carver Barracks. This event will have 16 teams in this event. Following this Uttlesford will have a winning team who will go forward to the Spring games in Southend on March 17th.
The four schools who went through to the next event are RAButler, Dame Bradbury, st Thomas More and Radwinter – Well done to all Schools that took part.
Uttlesford school sports partnership have been running the indoor sports athletics for the last two weeks. 24 primary school teams have been trying to win their partnership event. Jackie Coleman the School games organiser has seen an increase in students performance in this sport and has been very pleased with the involvement and training by schools prior to the competitions.
Dame Bradbury were the winners of the Saffron Walden competition, Great Chesterford primary school won the Newport competition, Dunmow St Mary’s were the winners of the Dunmow partnership and Henham and Ugley were the winners of the Stansted Primary Schools.
The final took place on Wednesday at Forest Hall School with Dame Bradbury becoming the 2016 Indoor sports hall athletics winner who will now represent Uttlesford in The Essex Games in March at Garons Park.

Saffron Walden and Newport primary schools swimming results 2016.
This year we saw a great deal of children take part in this very exciting event at the Lord Butler Leisure centre. There were 2 different events. The year 3 and 4 boys and girls swimming competition and the year 5 and 6 event.
The first event was the medium sized schools. These were Elsenham, St Thomas More, St Marys, Great Chesterford, Dame Bradburys and Clavering.
The final result of the top three schools were – year 3 and 4 -1st ST Thomas More, 2nd Dame Bradburys and 3rd Great Chesterford. Year 5 and 6 -1st _St Thomas More, 2nd Great Chesterford and 3rd Dame Bradbury
The small school entry saw 5 schools competing they were – Debden, Friends, Rickling, Ashdon and Chrishall.
The final result of the top three schools were –year 3 and 4 – 1st – Chrishall, 2nd Friends, 3rd Ashdon in the year 5and 6 -1st Ashdon, 2nd Chrishall and 3Friends. The overall school who won the small schools competition – Ashdon.
In the large schools the competition between Katherine Semar and Ra Butler was so close. In the year 3 and 4 events Katherine Semar were beaten by only 1point! Ra Butler won both events and so all winning schools will go through to the next competition where they will swim against the Dunmow and Stansted school winners. Eventually we will have the top school representing Uttlesford in the Essex Games in the summer.
The annual USSP Dodgeball final took place on Wednesday at Forest Hall School. Before this event took place the four secondary schools in Uttlesford had hosted year 5 and 6 Dodgeball competitions. Over 40 teams had competed in early competitions.The top 10 schools came together to compete.
The competition was extremely close with RA Butler winning the overall event. They will now go forward and represent Uttlesford in the Level 3 competition in Essex in January 2015. Photos below
