This years gymnastics was extremely exciting with very close results. The competition took place at Great Dunmow school. The competition was judged by three very strong gymnastic judges.
The results were as follows:
Key stage 1 1st place Great Dunmow, 2nd place Great Dunmow school.
Key stage 2 7 th place Henham and Ugley, 6 th place Howe Green, 4th place – Great Dunmow red and Dunmow St Mary’s red, 3 rd place Henham and Ugley yellow 109.2 points2 nd place Dunmow St Mary’s 112.2points and 1st place Great Dunmow with 113.7points. As you can see from the results the scores are really very close.
The swimming gala at helena Romanes was highly successful . The standard of the schools swimming has definitely improved.

And 1st were R A Butler. They will be representing Uttlesford in the level 3 competition in July at Basildon sporting village against the rest of Essex.

And 1st position St Thomas .
They will be representing Uttlesford in the level 3 event.

As a result of schools on teacher training we have unfortunately had to change the dates of some of the USSP events.
Emails to all schools have gone out, however please ensure that you have entered for the new events!
As a result of the new Level 3 competitions we also have included two new USSP events.

On Friday 5th February 2016 the Dunmow Schools had their second competition for year 5 and 6 boys and girls. There were 8 teams that entered this event. The morning of hockey was thoroughly exciting and the match in the final was extremely close. The winning team was Felsted (pictured below) with Takeley Primary school finishing second. Well done and good luck in the USSP competition after half term.
The family swimming competition took place at Dunmow Sports Centre in January with Great Easton school winning the small schools competition.
The team were successful winning both years 3 and 4 event and years 5 and 6 event.
The winning teams for the medium schools were Rodings Primary and Howe Green school.
The large school event was won by Great Dunmow school, they will now compete in early summer term for the overall winners to represent Uttlesford in the Essex games.
Key stage 1 children came along to Dunmow sports centre where Nick Wilderspin their SSCO and Jackie Coleman the School Games Organiser had a 90 minute session working with 3 classes. Helena Romanes school provided 16 sports leaders who worked extremely well with the children.
The sports circuit focus was this time fitness. Therefore the children were worked very hard on moving the children as much as possible at pace. This included sprinting and turning using the indoor sports hall athletic boards, tag rugby skills,using ladders and hurdles.
The children worked very hard throughout the session, but thoroughly enjoyed new activities which teachers supported in.

USSP’s first ever Golf Tournament went down a storm, nine schools took part and all thoroughly enjoyed the day.
The winning team was Elsenham, Howe Green finished second five shots behind.

Bentfield Primary and Dame Bradbury were winners and will represent Uttlesford in the Essex games final.
The boys cricket final for the Uttlesford school sport partnership took place on Wednesday 17th june at saffron walden cricket club. The matches were extremely tight with the final being decided on wickets taken in the game. In 8th place were Dunmow St mary’s, 7th place great Chesterford,6th place Rickling, 5th place Felsted, 4th placed Bentfield,3rd placed Friends,2nd placed Howe Green and winners of the event are RAButler. They will then go through to the county finals.
A thoroughly successful first time ever cheerleading festival took place at Oblivion cheerleading centre in Uttlesford on Thursday 18th June 2015.This was the first Essex festival for primary school students.
There were three events – and in the first 2 events Great Dunmow represented Uttlesford primary schools. With such a fantastic result!. The girls came first and second in the two major competitions.
We hope that next year we will have many more schools from the partnership taking part in cheerleading and will be offering cpd training for staff in this next year!
